The Navy Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (NJROTC) is a citizenship development program sponsored by the United States Navy. Its mission is to instill in students the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment.

At Freedom High School in Tampa, Florida, our NJROTC unit provides students with opportunities to learn about leadership, teamwork, discipline, and respect — both inside and outside the classroom. Cadets participate in a wide range of activities, including drill, physical training, academic competitions, color guard, community service, and leadership events.

Participation in NJROTC does not obligate students to join the military; rather, it encourages them to become stronger leaders, better citizens, and more confident young adults prepared for any future path they choose.

Our Instructors

Our NJROTC program is led by dedicated naval science instructors who bring years of military and leadership experience to Freedom High School. They guide, mentor, and inspire cadets to achieve excellence both in and out of uniform.
